Difference Between Inverter & Normal Compressor | Voltas Beko
Just imagine you are packing your bags to go on your long-awaited trip. You are on the flight when you realise your refrigerator is fully loaded. You were so excited about the trip that you forgot the food. What if the power goes out and the food goes stale? That’s when the ProSmart Invertor Compressor Refrigerator steps in. The inverter technology fridge ensures to keep your fruits and vegetables fresh without stopping the cooling process. But what is an inverter compressor, and how is it any different from a normal compressor refrigerator? Let's look at the difference between a normal compressor and an inverter fridge compressor.
Functioning of a refrigeration compressor
Normal compressor: A compressor is the part of the refrigerator that turns the refrigerant from gas to liquid to maintain the refrigerator's temperature. It runs till the fridge reaches its required temperature, and once it does, it stops the process.
Inverter compressor: On the other hand, an inverter-operated compressor doesn’t need to stop. It begins slowly and then runs at a growing speed till it reaches a specific temperature. It then slows down to maintain the particular temperature, and the cycle repeats without stopping. The inverter technology allows the refrigerator compressor to work continuously without a pause.
Durability of compressor in refrigeration system
Normal compressor: It has low durability as it is likely to be damaged whenever the compressor starts and stops the cooling process.
Inverter compressor: It has high durability as the brushless motor of the inverter ensures little to no wear and tear to the refrigerator.
Efficiency of the refrigerators
Normal compressor: Whenever the compressor starts, it consumes more electricity. Hence, it is considered less energy efficient.
Inverter compressor: The inverter technology fridge saves up to 70% on your energy bills, making your refrigerator highly energy efficient.
Operation sounds of the compressor
Normal compressor: Some sound occurs whenever the compressor starts and stops working.
Inverter compressor: The BLDC fan of the inverter runs on a low rotational speed, which means four times quieter operation.
